Rawat misses date with CBI in CD case again

Published on:

Harish Rawat again failed the date CBI fixed for his appearance before its team that has been probing the purported sting CD episode that showed him as offering money to buy the rebel MlAs back. He was given the  summon on May 11 after he had failed to turn up on an earlier date.

“The timing is odd. They first summoned me on May 9 when I was in the thick of preparing for the May 10 floor test. Then again, I received the summon to turn up on May 11— the day we were awaiting the ruling from the Supreme Court regarding the floor test. I could not appear as I was tired. I need some time  to relax after the exertion I suffered  due to the floor test," Rawat said.

Invoking his coming under the senior citizen category, he said the CBI should keep this  in mind while sending  summons.

“However, I want to make it clear that I am ready to extend full cooperation to CBI. What I need is some time,” he said.
