Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the website and information brochure of the Nester Education Society on Sunday. He asserted that late Than Singh Rawat played an important role to develop the transport system in hilly areas of Uttarakhand.

He contributed unforgettably in the freedom fight of India and after the independence; he played a significant role in creatively developing the nation and society, CM said, adding that determination is must for the creative tasks.

Rawat said that local people remarkably contributed in the construction of the roads in Uttarakhand by voluntarily Shramdan (labour donation).

late Than Singh Rawat including some other great leaders of the State spread the awareness about Shramdan (labour donation). Roads would be named after these great leaders. It is unimaginable that the Shramdan of local people can construct a road of 40 km.

The first phase of State development was focused on the industry but in the second phase, we would have to focus on the agriculture, education and handicraft.

Promoting the local crops like Mandua, Walnut, Jhingora, Gahath, Malta, Bhujela, Cholay etc may change the State economy drastically. A good commercial marketing of local products may be a big boost for State economy.

CM said that Government services might not be provided to all the people. However, if involvement in agriculture and handicraft activities with full determination were assured, nobody would be unemployed.

We have to convert our farms into production houses by adopting latest technology and professional approach. Water conservation would be promoted through the conservation of “Chal-Khal”.

Education sector has received a huge investment quantity wise but not it would need qualitative approach now.
