Rawat is 'pained' over MlA Dan Singh Bhandari's resignation

Commenting on Bhimtal BJP MlA Dan Singh Bhandari, who had resigned from Vidhan Sabha on June 10, a day before the crucial Rajya Sabha election, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said on Monday that he felt pained whenever an MlA lost his membership of the  Assembly for any reason.

“This is because the  people  who elect the MlA for the  constituencies for five years   lose his service as their representative. However, as the CM of the  State, it  falls within my responsibility squarely to serve all the 70 constituencies of the State. I take the pledge to serve the people  of the constituencies where the MlAs have been disqualified or have quit of their own accord  to the best of my ability.

“I would serve as their  MlA till the  Assembly election is held. They can approach me with any grievance they have,” he said.

Scotching speculation over  his government  recommending  dissolution of  the Assembly, CM  said while talking to The Pioneer that he is presently obsessed with bringing  the state budget  which  was passed by the Assembly on March 18 back on tracks.
