'Rawat Govt to be in crisis after polls'

Published on:

Former Garhwal MP and BJP leader Satpal Maharaj, who has recently joined BJP by deserting the Congress, has categorically said that after lok Sabha election

the Harish Rawat-led Uttarakhand Government will go in deep crisis.

This time its credit would go to State cabinet Minister Indira Hridayesh, who is currently watching political activity patiently, because Harish Rawat has become the Chief Minister of the State with a promise that he would ensure party candidates’ victory in Uttarakhand lok Sabha seats. Although the Congress has outrightly rejected it and said that Maharaj is daydreaming.

Maharaj, who came to the State BJP office on Thursday, said that Hridayesh has already alleged that Harish Rawat had made several promises to the legislatures individually while he was running crusade to topple Vijay Bahuguna Government.

After becoming Chief Minister of the State, Rawat has failed to fulfill the promises of MlA and the Congress

workers so far.

Again he has been emotionally blackmailing voters and party workers of Haridwar and Almora parliamentary constituencies by saying that “You vote for the Congress, for the stability of the Harish Rawat Government.”

It means that Chief Minister Rawat has realised that the Congress would loose all five seats of the State and his Government would not

survive after general election. He further said that from the beginning CM Rawat had been giving assurances to the party high command that he would revive two out of five lok Sabha seats i.e. Haridwar and Almora.

First is currently being represented by CM Rawat and latter is known as his home constituency because he belongs to Almora. In view of this, he is spending more time in these two constituencies.

Talking to The Pioneer, State spokesperson Surendra Aggrawal said that State BJP, which was confident about

5-O victory during Vijay Bahuguna regime, had to revise their strategy after inception of Harish Rawat as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on February

1, 2014.

Currently they are getting tough fight on each five lok Sabha seats from the Congress candidate because of Rawat. Even in Garhwal, which was being considered as safest

seat for BJP earlier, their candidate Maj. Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri is getting tough fight from the Congress candidate and State cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat.

Due to this they have been working on single point agenda that how to defame the Chief Minister.

“Is it not a big achievement of Harish Rawat GovernmentIJ” Aggrawal asked.
