Some councillors in the State capital said that new ration card forms were not distributed adequately among intended beneficiaries of National Food Security Scheme by the district officials. Many low income group families have not received this form.
However, Dehradun District Magistrate BVRC Purushottam said that there are enough new ration card forms and those who have not procured these forms will be given these in the second phase of distribution by the Anganwadi workers.
Ward number-18 councilor Santokh Singh Nagpal said that Anganwadi workers have distributed new ration card forms but large numbers of residents in this ward are yet to procure these forms. The last date for distribution of these forms by the district officials was October 7.
“Taking cognisance of local residents’ complaints in this regard, I recently got some new forms from Municipal Corporation of Dehradun. It was difficult for me to distribute these forms among the residents because large numbers of intended beneficiaries had not procured these forms.” According to him, as per Government guidelines, only poor persons should be given this form. District officials have distributed these forms only among those families who reside alongside the road. large numbers of intended beneficiaries who reside in small streets in this ward have not received these forms.
According to him, district officials do not educate the beneficiaries about how to fill this form. Due to this, many families are facing difficulties to fill this form correctly.
Uttar Pradesh (Bijnor) native Savitri said, “I have been living in Rishinagar (Raipur) for the last many years. I work as a domestic help. Though I have made photo identity card, no district officials have given me new ration card form.”
