Ramesh Ranganathan assumed charge as the chief justice of Uttarakhand high court post afternoon on Friday after being administered the oath of office by the governor in the morning. After assuming charge, he also presided over the hearing of various cases in the court. Later in the evening, a full-court reference ceremony was also held to welcome him.
The CJ arrived by helicopter from Dehradun and after a short while sat in court. The CJ along with justice Rajiv Sharma heard various cases on his first day. During evening, a full-court reference was held which was attended by various justices and former justices of HC, advocates and officials of the court.
