The head of Jan Sangharsh Morcha, Raghunath Singh Negi has alleged that chief secretary S Ramaswamy misused his position to get his son sponsored for a contractual position of physiotherapist in the Uttarakhand Ayurveda University through the Uttarakhand Purv Sainik Kalyan Nigam limited (UPNl). Negi averred that Ramaswamy had got the post of physiotherapist created in the university in one day in violation of the regulations and wrote a letter on October 5, 2015, to sponsor or employ his son. Without delay and under pressure, UPNl, on the very next day, October 6, 2015 sponsored the chief secretary’s son Dr R Harshvardhan for the post.
Negi said, “What is surprising is that Dr Harshvardhan was neither registered with UPNl in the past nor is he a dependent of an ex-serviceman. Despite these facts, UPNl officials worked under pressure and due to that Harshvardhan started rendering his services to the university from October 14, 2015.”
The Jan Sangharsh Morcha chief went on to State that it is unfortunate that while lakhs of educated youth in the State are unemployed with many of them being among the dependents of ex-servicemen, they are denied a chance on the grounds that there are no vacancies at present. He said, “The important fact is that thousands of youth in various departments in the State, have been awaiting their regularisation for the past 10-15 years. On the other hand the State Government is focusing on getting the chief secretary’s son a permanent job in a couple of years. The Jan Sangharsh Morcha will approach the court of justice against the decision of the Government and also protest against it on the roads,” stressed Negi.
