Rajveer Singh of Haridwar would be the new president of the X- ray technician association of Uttarakhand. The election of the new body of the association was held on Saturday night. The association also elected Mahesh Bhatt as General Secretary while senior technician of Doon Medical College hospital, Mahendra Bhandari was elected as state treasurer.
The association passed a resolution on the occasion asking the State Government to increase manpower of X ray technicians so that the services of equipment can be taken after 2 pm at least in the district hospitals.
There are 150 sanctioned posts of technicians in health department of Uttarakhand but less than 100 are working, affecting the health services of the State in the process.
The association also demanded that the old X ray machines should be replaced by digital ones so that better facilities are provided to the people of the State.
