Rajnikanth on spiritual visit to Rishikesh

The Tamil superstar Rajnikanth reached Rishikesh on Tuesday noon on his spiritual journey. Soon after he arrived, he visited Swami Dayananda Ashram located at Muni-Ki-Reti which had also been visited by  the Prime Minister Narendra Modi  around three years ago.

Stressing  that  he would love to talk less during this spiritual trip,  Rajnikanth said he would not comment on political issues. He said that he had heard the news of Amitabh Bachchan being taken to hospital. “I am praying for his  good health. He would be  alright soon,” he said.

Asked to comment  by the mediapersons over the actor- turned politician Kamal Hassan, Rajnikanth said that he did not want to comment politically on him. “I am yet to turn into a full- time politician. So it is unwise for me to comment politically,”  he said, adding that this was  the reason why  he has not formed   a political party of his own.

Speaking to The Pioneer about his frequent sojourns into the  Himalayas, Rajnikanth said, “One must connect with the soul which is the ultimate objective of human life. We must know what  our real being is and the purpose for which we have come into the world. Such visits to the Himalayas are my inner journey into the realm of the inmost soul.”

Clad in white Kurta pyjama, he walked with the  same majestic gait which enthralled the people.  “Nothing has changed, the same royal  spring  in his gait,” said one who claimed to be his fan.

He would stay in the holy city for two days, said  the manager of the ashram Swami Gunananda, adding that  the actor was on a two-week pilgrimage to the Himalayas. “He has already visited Himachal Pradesh and Jammu. He is expected to visit Dunagiri in Kumaon at  the end of this week, “ the swami said.
