Though the heat wave condition now prevailing over the State is likely to continue for four more days there is a likelihood of rain-spawned respite sporadically in some of the districts of the State like Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag on Thursday. As per the forecast, hail might lash some places in Dehradun and Tehri among some other districts on the day.
Meanwhile, the heat wave condition continued in Dehradun on Wednesday with the maximum temperature settling at over 40 degree Celsius. Thursday might see thunder cloud development at some places in the district towards afternoon/evening. If it happens the climate might cool down a bit.
In the rest of the state, the sky would be partly cloudy with possibility of rain at some places in the hills on Thursday. However, there would be no respite from the heat wave condition now sweeping across the state during the day time on the day, the Met officers said.
