Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast rain and snow at a few places in the State in the next 48 hours. Snowfall (05-10 cm in depth) may occur at places with altitudes of over 2500m. In Dehradun, there would be generally cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development or light rain may occur in some areas. Dehradun may receive light to moderate rainfall at various places since late Tuesday night.
However, it was sunny in Dehradun on Tuesday. The residents were found warming themselves in the sun.
Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma said thunder cloud development may occur in some areas in the State capital while some places may also see snowfall. He attributes this to the western disturbances and induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbouring districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Sharma said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 22.2°C and 6.5°C respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be hovering around 16°C and 08°C respectively on Wednesday in Dehradun.
