The weather department said on Thursday that thundershower might lash some places in Pithoragarh district of the state while it might rain in other districts like Chamoli, Rydraprayag and Uttarkashi on Friday. The climate in the rest of the state would remain mainly dry on the day, though the sky would be generally cloudy, said the Met officers. For Dehradun, the forecast is clear to partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder cloud development towards the afternoon/evening of Friday.
The Met officers further said that the maximum temperature of Dehradun might soar up a little and is likely to settle at 34 degree Celsius on Friday. The minimum temperature here is also likely to see a rise by a couple of notches as compared to Thursday. On Thursday, the minimum temperature hovered in the neighbourhood of 16 degree Celsius, three notches below the normal.
As an impact of the western disturbance-spawned wet spell that has been continuing for some days across the state, the mercury has remained on the lower side. The minimum temperature recorded at Mukteshwar was 7.8, four notches below the normal while at New Tehri it was 9.2, near normal, and at Pantnagar it was 15.8, four notches below the normal.
