People particularly tourists may have to experience a tough time as the vehicular traffic is likely to remain disrupted between Haldwani and Rudrapur on the National Highway -87 due to some railway works at Tanda forest area on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Though the officials concerned have tried to ensure smooth movements of the vehicular traffic on this Haldwani and Rudrapur stretch, travellers and other motorists may certainly have to face a harrowing time during these two days particularly those who will be touring during night times.

Keeping in view the certain railway works near the Tanda forest, now the vehicles would be diverted via lalkuwan, said Heera Singh Rana, Traffic Inspector of the Nainital district, while talking to The Pioneer.

We have made necessary arrangements to ensure smooth flow of the vehicles. At the same time, motorists are also advised to follow the traffic diversions, he added.

Since the disruptions in vehicular traffic are likely to occur during the night times on Monday and Tuesday, therefore we hope there will not be much problem in maintaining the vehicular traffic on this stretch, Rana expressed hope.

The movements of the vehicles will remain restricted on the Haldwani and Rudrapur stretch from 10 pm to 5 am both Monday and Tuesday, as the officials concerned said.

In the meanwhile, local tour operators have expressed concern over disruptions in vehicular traffic and its possible adverse impact on the tourism business here in Nainital and other parts of the hill areas. This is the peak tourist season. Disruption in vehicular traffic is really a matter of concern for us, said Devender Dwivedi, a local tour operator here.

Keeping in view these traffic inconveniences, we are now planning to make necessary possible changes in the travel package so that the tourists may easily reach their destinations, he added.
