In what is being viewed as a proper step in the direction of establishment of a full fledged associated medical college of Doon Medical College (DMC), the facilities of the radiology department of hospital were thrown open 24x7 on Tuesday for the patients. The radiology department of the hospital has facilities like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Assisted Tomography (CT), digital X ray and mammography.

Till now these facilities were available only during day times. Confirming the development the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital Dr K K Tamta said that the radiology facilities would be available in three shifts of eight hours each. He informed that the time of first shift would be from 8 AM to 2 PM, II shift from 2 PM to 10 PM and III shift from 10 PM to 8 PM.

Hundreds of patients avail facilities like MRI, X rays, Ultra sounds, digital radiography and CT in the associated hospital of DMC. The hospital data suggests that the radiology department of the hospital does about 150-200 X rays, 100-120 Ultra Sounds, 45- 50 CT scans and 15 to 25 MRIs daily.  The round the clock availability of these facilities would bring relief to the people now as they are available at much cheaper rates in the hospital as compared with private hospitals and radiology centres.
