The X-ray ward of radiology department of Doon hospital serves more than 100 patients daily but the operating staff appears to have forgotten to give mandatory warning to attendants who accompany the patients for X-Ray about the harmful effects of X-Rays. According to the rules no one should enter the X -ray room apart from the patient but in practice no one stops the attendants who oblivious of the threat of ionizing radiations enter the room full of radiations. The Head of Department (HOD) of radiology department Dr Yateendra Singh said that ionizing radiations like X- ray bring genetic level changes but they take time to manifest them. He informed that children are more prone to ionizing radiations which can cause thyroid cancer and induce early cataract.
