Purchased nomination forms can still be used

Aspirant candidates who had earlier purchased nomination forms for contesting panchayat elections may use the same for completing necessary nomination process as and when the panchayat election process restarts in future as these nomination forms will be considered as legal as per the directions of the State Election Commission, Uttarakhand.

According to the instructions of the State Election Commission, all the block development officers (BDOs) have been asked to consider the nominations forms which have already been purchased by the candidates as legal and whenever the panchayat election process restarts the candidates may use the same forms for completing nomination formalities, clarified the District Election Office, Almora.

At the same time the BDOs have also been asked to create awareness about the same so that candidates in rural areas and other places may not have to face any difficulty. It may be recalled that following the directions of the State Election Commission, Uttarakhand, distribution of nomination forms have already been stopped at the respective block offices from March 2, 2014, added the officials concerned of the district election office, Almora.
