Employees of Punjab National Bank, Dehradun adopted the ‘Gandhigiri’ on Sunday to recover bank dues from defaulters under the bank’s Nationwide Gandhigiri Recovery Campaign, rather than resorting to other measures adopted conventionally. On Sunday, the employees of PNB Dehradun led by its Dehradun circle head, Anil Kumar Khosla started the campaign for the area.
On employing this method for recovery, Khosla informed that 15-20 bank employees started the demonstration since 8 am with message for recovery written on posters and demonstrated silently in front of defaulter’s house and then moved on to other defaulter’s house.
He informed that the purpose of this demonstration was to motivate the defaulters to pay the hard earned money deposited by depositors in the bank.
He added that the bank supported the defaulters by providing credit to them and now it is the duty of defaulters to repay the debt taken by them in time. All the demonstrations were silent and peaceful.
Khosla further informed that this campaign will be intensified in future to cover all defaulters so that the defaulters get the message that it is better to return the deposits made by general public in banks otherwise they(defaulters) will be marginalised in the society.
