The Prathmik Shikshak Sangh (PSS), the biggest organisation of teachers in Uttarakhand, would oppose the education department’s plan to restart the recruitment process of Block Resource Person (BRP) and Cluster Resource Person (CRP).
The President of PSS, Nirmala Mahar told The Pioneer that the department should formulate the guidelines for the BRP and CRP cadre before going ahead with the recruitment.
The education department had initiated the recruitment process for 984 posts of the Cluster Resource Persons (CRP) and 285 posts of Block Resource Persons (BRP) on June 27.
The creation of a separate and specialized cadre of resource persons is a basic requirement under the under the centrally sponsored Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). To fulfill the SSA requirement the education department rechristened the names of existing Cluster Resource Coordinator (CRC) and Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) to Cluster Resource Persons (CRP) and Block Resource Persons (BRP) to create a new cadre for these
positions.
According to the recruitment advertisement the serving Head Masters of Primary schools, Assistant teachers of middle schools and lecturer Teachers (lT) with a service of five years were eligible for being appointed as BRP and CRP. The CRP and BRP are the basic positions in the education department who are assigned the tasks of training and monitoring the activities of the teachers.
Under pressure from the PSS the department on the directive of State Chief Minister Harish Rawat halted the recruitment process but now the department has restarted the process.
Mahar said that she would raise the issue with the senior department officers on August 1 and ask them to stop the process. The serving CRC and BRC are also opposed to this recruitment drive as they could be
reverted back to their schools after the department makes new appointments after recruitment.
