The Prathmik Shikshak Sangh (PSS) has suspended its proposed Vidhan Sabha Gherao by the primary teachers of the State on December 7. This move of the association came after the State Education Minister Arivind Pandey arrived at the State Education Directorate on Tuesday and requested the teachers to take back their proposed march to State Assembly at Bharadisain near Gairsain. The Minister assured the agitated teachers that he would meet the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister to solve the issue. The General Secretary of the association, Digvijay Singh said that the association has suspended its plan to the Gherao the assembly on the assurance of the minister. He claimed that the no Special Basic Teacher Certificate (BTC) teacher would enroll for the bridge course offered by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). The services of more than 18000 Special BTC teachers in Uttarakhand are at stake as the National Council of Teachers Training (NCTE) has refused to grant recognition to the Special BTC course of the state in retrospection.
