One Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel was suspended and two others were reverted to the lines after it was known that they while being drunk had beaten up some food vendors trading in the lalkuan railway station premises a few days ago.
After being beaten up, they recounted their tale to other vendors and later informed senior police officials. They staged protest, demanding action against the accused RPF personnel.
After RPF assistant commandant Vipin Kumar Saxena, posted in Bareilly, took the vendors' statement and reported the same to the commandant Santosh Kumar Singh at Bareilly headquarters a decision was taken to take steps against the accused RPF personnel.
