Uttaranchal Bank Employees Union has decided to celeberate bank nationalisation day as demand day. This was claimed by the union general secretary Jagmohan Mehandiratta while interacting with media person on Friday. Banks Non Performing Assets (NPA) has turned as dangerous and government wants to give banking in the hand of corporate house.

To ascertain his claim Union also disclosed 36 defaulters, which are having loan of Rs 514 crore and turned it as NPA, in the state. Union has also disclosed 4085 bank defaulters names, which are having loan worth of Rs 70637 crore, having spread across the nation.

Mehandiratta said that public sector banks need to be expanded by the Union Government. He warned that privatization of public sector bank will not be tolerated anymore. On July 19, 1969, union government has nationalised 14 private banks. Since then banks have done several commendable works. Despite all this achievement there is tremendous scope for work. Currently five lakh villages do not have bank branch and 50 crore people does not have their bank account.

Even genuine persons are not getting loan from bank because banks money blocked before large industry and companies as well. During interaction with media person, he said that there is need to make proper planning about how to expand public sector banks and stop merger of banks. Union government should  make leak proof policy to check NPA because habitual bank defaulters know that bank would be liberal while dealing with them.

SBI and its associate banks should be seperated and stop giving banking license to coperate house. There is need to convert private bank into public sector banks.
