Promote State Govt's work, highlight Centre's failures: Upadhyay to party men

Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has asked the panel of Congress spokespersons in Uttarakhand to publicise the works of the State Government and the “failures” of the Central Government. He said this while chairing a meet with the party’s State spokespersons in Dehradun on Monday.

Upadhyaya said that the BJP had used devious means to form its government at the Centre. “The BJP leaders misinformed the people about the UPA government for political gains. The BJP is now obliged to fulfill the promises it had made to the public during the lok Sabha elections and pressure should be exerted on the BJP to respond to public expectations on these issues. The Congress will pressurise the Central Government for fulfilling each of the promises made by the BJP during the elections. Since the BJP led NDA has come to power at the Centre, the Central Government has focused less on works in public interest and worked more on false propaganda.

We have to work through the media to expose the false propaganda and anti-public policies of the BJP at the Centre,” said the PCC chief.

PCC spokespersons including Qazi Nizamuddin, Kedar Singh Rawat, Karan Mahra, Yogendra Khanduri, Mathura Datt Joshi, Anshul Shree Kunj and Rajiv Meharshi were among those present in the meeting.
