The work on the ‘All- weather Road’ connecting the Char Dhams is now progressing at an unprecedented pace and also in a highly scientific manner, claimed the spokesperson of the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Munna Singh Chauhan who is also an MlA while interacting with the media persons at the State party headquarters on Saturday.
launching a blistering attack on former Chief Minister Harish Rawat for criticizing the Government for bumpy roads and Kedarnath reconstruction activities, the BJP leader said that some problems are bound to take place in a situation where work of such magnitude is taking place.
“In cities, we see that for small work like laying of pipelines, the roads are diverted but in All Weather road, the traffic is running smoothly despite such a massive scale of work. The works slope treatment, rock stitching and geo-synthetic treatment of rocks are being done for the first time and a massive scale. To dump the rock debris separate dumping zones have been created,’’ he said.
The BJP leader came down heavily on Harish Rawat for raising apprehensions on the ongoing development activities in Kedarnath and said, “Harish Rawat claimed to have taken both the telescope and lens to the Kedarnath but it appears his eyes were closed while using these equipment.
Besides, he has a habit of keeping his eyes closed; in the sting operation also he was heard saying that he will keep his eyes closed,’’ Chauhan said.
On Friday former CM Harish Rawat had attacked the BJP Government on Kedarnath development works and had levelled serious allegations.
On Saturday Chauhan replied to all these charges. He said that Rawat and other Congress leaders should stop behaving like religious preachers and should instead start a political discourse.
Chauhan said that the retention wall on Mandakini River has been redesigned for more providing more strength. He added that local stone is being used in the construction of the platform around the temple and a big shed based on local architecture has been constructed.
The bridle path leading to the temple has been broadened for the safety of the pilgrims. The BJP leader said that the despair of Harish Rawat is understandable as he proved to be a failure while he was Chief Minister.
