The State Government should conduct independent a high-level inquiry into financial, administrative and legal irregularities orchestrated by former MKP (PG) college management committee members while executing their duties, said MKP College Society patron member and founder family representative NS Bhatnagar while interacting with media persons on Sunday.

The State Government had recently dissolved MKP (PG) College management committee as its members failed to execute their duties as per rules and Dehradun district magistrate BVRC Purushottam was appointed the authorised administrator of the college until the formation of the new college management committee. later, the authorised administrator had reappointed Indu Singh as college principal.

Bhatnagar alleged that the due to self interest, obstinacy, and autocratic attitude of the former-management committee members, the tradition and image of college has been marred. There have been financial irregularities in use of Rs 45 lakh released by the University Grants Commission (UGC to the college. The then acting secretary of the committee had not disclosed information about this fund to the college staff and spent it in an arbitrary manner.

Apart from this, products which the college management had purchased were kept locked in a room and officials were not informed about the same, he added. He said that there have been financial, administrative and legal irregularities in the management of the MKP (PG) College hostel. In spite of the college saving on last year's MKP (PG) hostel fee, the management has increased its annual hostel fee from Rs 24,000 to Rs 33,000 per annum. To earn profit, the fees of self finance courses in

Mahadevi Institute of Technology (MIT) has been increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 25,000 per annum. As per Government order, the 60 per cent of the fee thus collected has to be spent on salaries and the rest 40 per cent has to be spent on infrastructure. The management had also violated this regulation. The management had acquired 30,000 square feet land and passed in the committee for the commercial buildings (for non teaching works).

This is again the violation of constitution of the institute. Due to autocratic attitude of the management committee members, the management had spent around Rs 15-20 lakh on around 20 cases against society members, principal and staff which are pending in court.
