The inquiry committee formed to investigate the recent mysterious death of a girl in Balika Niketan has asked for one more day to submit the final report to the State minister of Women and Child Development, Rekha Arya and district magistrate SA Murugesan.The chief probation officer and member of the inquiry committee, Mohit Chaudhary said, “We are again taking the statements of the people in the Balika Niketan and those who were present there during the incident. It is likely to take one more day.”
It will be recalled that a 16-year old girl inmate of Balika Niketan had allegedly committed suicide in the bathroom of the facility on the night of May 15. She had used her dupatta to make a noose tied to the bathroom handle to commit suicide.
