The Bharatiya Janata Party State president Ajay Bhatt has demanded a high level inquiry in the discontinuation of the social health insurance scheme the ‘Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana’ (MSBY) on the State foundation day.
Sensing foul play in discontinuation of the important scheme on such an important day, the BJP leader has dashed off a letter to State Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
In his letter Bhatt has alleged that the former Congress State Government had given the task of running MSBY to a black listed company.
He said it was a matter of investigation as to how tender of MSBY was given to a black listed company.
Bhatt said as soon as the insurance company washed its hands off the scheme many hospitals of the State removed the patients from the ventilators which was unfortunate.
The BJP leader said it was surprising and raised suspicion as to why the insurance company decided to discontinue the scheme when the state was celebrating its 17th foundation day and that too when the company was supposed to run the scheme further as per the MoU.
He said this act could have been done deliberately to malign the image of
the state BJP State Government.
