Taking cognisance on internal reports that recruitments took place under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in Uttarkashi district, the Harish Rawat Government has ordered vigilance enquiry. Although no declaration was made officially but sources have confirmed that the probe decision was taken by the State Government.
RMSA was launched in March 2009 with an objective to enhance access to secondary education and to improve its quality. Besides, its objectives include improving quality of eudcaiton imparted at secondary level thorugh making all secondary schools conform to prescribed norms, removing gender, socio-economic and disability barriers, providing universal access to secondary level education by the end of 12 five year plan and achieving universal retention by 2020.
It has been noticed that several anomalies were followed in recruitment and executing the other work. Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who have been working hard with officials or Cabinet or Congress legislatures since beginning as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, is going to send message across the State that the Government is in active mode and will do everything to serve the people and weed out corruption as well.
Sources said that with this CM Rawat has tried to control former Education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani, leader of Progressive Democratic Front (PDF), an alliance of seven MlAs including three BSP, three independent and one UKD (P) and had been vocal during change of guard, because RMSA and SSA come under the Education Ministry.
