Putting into rest speculations of differences between him and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, the Pradesh Congress Committee President (PCC) President Pritam Singh attended the fast of Harish Rawat on Monday.
Though Pritam arrived late at Gandhi Park almost at the time when Harish Rawat had broken his self imposed silence of one hour, his arrival sent a clear message of unity in a party facing factionalism. On his late arrival Pritam Singh said that since he was not in Dehradun on Sunday, he was not aware about the fast of Harish Rawat. “When I knew about it today, I decided to attend,’’ he said.
The renewed bonhomie between two leaders considered not in good terms in recent times, was also visible during the protest organised by the party on the utterances of PM Modi on former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Harish Rawat not only attended the protest but also made it a point to visit the state headquarters of the Congress party.
