On the orders of District Magistrate of Dehradun, Ravi Nath Raman, the Chief Education Officer (CEO), S P Khali has asked all the private and public schools to start their primary sections after 9 am. The DM has taken this decision in view of the prevailing cold wave condition in the valley. The CEO has directed all the Block Education Officers (BEO) that since cold conditions prevail in the mountainous regions due to snowfall and fog in the plain areas, all the primary schools (I - V) should open only after 9 am. In his order the CEO has warned of strict disciplinary action if any violation of the order is observed.
