Based on the report of this team the apex body of medical education would issue the first renewal of letter of permission (lOP) which was granted for this academic session. After many failed attempts, the medical education department and the state government were able create sufficient infrastructure and recruit staff for the GDMC so that the MCI had granted its approval for admission of 150 students in I year MBBS course on June 08 this year. However, after that many faculty members have left the job due to which more than 20 percent teaching positions are at present lying vacant. The department of medicine of the college is worst affected as three faculty members have left their jobs in last few months.
