The district administration, Almora, has directed the officials concerned of different schools to prepare a work plan to protect schools from natural disasters like landslides, earthquakes during monsoon season.
Emphasising on the need to put in place the work plan on time and deal with natural disaster like situation, Vinod Kumar Suman, District Magistrate Almora, has asked the officials concerned of different schools to launch awareness campaign on disaster minimisation and management in coordination with the district disaster management department and prepare a work planin this regard. The Almora District Magistrate also asked the officials concerned of different schools to conduct mock drills as part of preparations so that necessary steps could be taken at the time of crisis and , he added. It is worth mention here that Almora is one of the sensitive districts of Uttarakhand from natural disaster point of view.
