To make the proposed International Sanskrit Seminar a success, scheduled to be held in September this year, the Principal Secretary Sanskrit Education and the president of organising committee S Raju constituted many committees on Monday.
To arrange proper accommodations for the visiting Sanskrit scholars the Additional Secretary Sanskrit Education Vinod Raturi was made the president of accommodation committee.
The additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Dehradun, GC Gunwant would assist Raturi. This committee has been directed to submit a detailed report of its preparations to provide accommodation to about 120 scholars till 15 July. The Director Culture Beena Bhatt was appointed the president of Cultural Programmes Committee and was directed to ensure selection of such programs which reflect the culture of Uttarakhand and are commensurate with the dignity of rich Sanskrit language.
To make the three-day event memorable a committee for publication of souvenir and memento was constituted under the Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University Mahavir Agarwal. The General Manager of Tourism, Assistant Director of Information department of Governor House and senior faculty members of the Sanskrit University were made members of this committee which would select research papers for the seminar. Raju said that a Coffee table book reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand should also be prepared for the occasion.
He said that the three-day event is an opportunity to position Uttarakhand as a unique state of India. Raju said that the services of an efficient event manager should be taken for the seminar. He asked the different committee to submit their detailed report for the preparation till July 7.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University Mahavir Agarwal, Additional Secretary Governor and nodal officer of seminar Nidhi Pandey, Additional Secretary Sanskrit Education Vinod Raturi, Additional Secretary Finance lN Pant, vice-president Sanskrit Academy SK Semwal, Secretary Sanskrit Education SC Bahuguna, ADM J C Gunwant, Finance Controller H S Bonal, Director Culture Beena Bhatt and others.
