The Pauri district administration has completed preparations for the elections to the posts of Block Pramukh, senior deputy block Pramukh, junior deputy block Pramukh, District Panchayat president and vice president.
The polling for the posts of block Pramukh, senior deputy block Pramukh and junior deputy block Pramukh of 15 blocks -- Khirsu, Pauri, Kot, Paubo, Kaljikhal, Thalisain, Beerokhal, Nainidanda, Pokhra, Ekeshwar, Dwarikhal, Jaiharikhal, Rikhnikhal, Dugadda and Yamkeshwar will be held in the block headquarters on July 27 from 10AM to 3 PM and after the polling the counting of votes will commence followed by the declaration of results on the same day.
The nomination for the post of block Pramukh and others was completed on July 24 with the scrutiny of the nomination papers continuing till the time of this report being filed. The date of withdrawal of nomination is July 26.
The District Magistrate/ District Election officer (Panchayat) Chandra Shekhar Bhatt said that the assistant returning officers have been appointed for all 15 blocks. These include Minor Irrigation executive engineer PK Singh for Thalisain block, deputy project director of watershed management Naveen Barfal for Nainidanda block, deputy chief veterinary officer Abhaya Kumar Garg for Beerokhal block, regional employment officer, lansdowne, YS Rawat for Rikhnikhal block, district industry centre Kotdwar general manager Bipin Kumar for Pokhra block, chief agriculture officer Suresh Chandra for Yamkeshwar block, watershed management deputy project officer Akhilesh Tiwari for Jaiharikhal block, district education officer (Basic) YS Chaudhary for Dwarikhal block, UREDA senior project officer Neeraj Kumar Garg for Ekeshwar block, chief veterinary officer Satya Swaroop for Kot block, RES executive engineer Shiv Mohan Singh Rawat for Pauri block, district development officer Ved Prakash for Khirsu block, ETC Pauri principal Rakesh Kumar for Kaljikhal block, Swajal project manager Sunil Joshi for Paubo block and DRDA assistant director Vikram Singh for Dugadda block. Bhatt said that all the election process for the post of District Panchayat president and vice-president will be conducted in the district Panchayat headquarter in Pauri.
The nominations for these posts will be filed between 11 am and 3 pm on July 30 followed by the scrutiny of the papers on the same day. The nominations can be withdrawn between 10 am and 2 pm on August 2 and polling will be held from 9 am to 2 pm on August 5 followed by the counting and declaration of the results on the same day.
