Members of the Christian community attended special prayers to mark Good Friday in Dehradun where prayer meetings were held in various churches.
At the St Francis Church near Parade Ground, devotees attended the special service and sermon given by Father Valerian Pinto to mark the occasion. Father Pinto said that the seven reflections of Jesus given on Good Friday are read in the Church on this day. He exhorted the followers of Christ to remember his teachings and adopt them in their daily life. He also said that the day also reminded everyone that Christ had sacrificed his life for them. Devotees also sang hymns in praise of the lord.
