More so, snowfall in high altitudes only added to the woes of the people living in these areas. Among others schools children, office -goers, and occasional visitors, experienced a tough time on Monday though long distance travelers were the worst sufferers as they faced a tough time reaching their destinations on time due to traffic jams.

The prevailing weather conditions have drastically brought down the temperature in hilly areas of the region recording minimum temperature about 6 degrees Celsius and maximum about 7 degrees Celsius in hill regions like Pithoragarh.

The temperature has also come down to 10 degrees Celsius even in Terai region. The rain also caused water-logging on many roads particularly in urban areas like the Haldwani city, hitting the vehicular traffic. Motorists experienced a tough time due to water logging throughout the day  here on different roads including the Haldwani -Ramnagar Road and Haldwani- Nainital Road to name a few.

In the meanwhile, officials concerned of the disaster management office, Pithoragarh informed that the Munsyari -Kalamuni Road which was blocked near Kalamuni on Sunday has been reopened.
