The 16th Inter Central Power Sector Undertaking (ICPSUs) table tennis tournament under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board (PSEB), Ministry of Power, Government of India from January 14 to 17 concluded at THDC India limited, Rishikesh with a prize distribution ceremony held at its campus.
The national table tennis player and Arjuna award recipient Indu Puri was the chief guest and gave the prizes to the winning teams. Earlier, in the day, Power Grid clinched the tournament by defeating BBMB in the finals by 3-0. BBMB stood second and THDC India limited table tennis team came third by defeating SJVNl by 3/2. SK Biswas, Director(Personnel), THDCIl, SK Agrawal, GM(P&A/CC), C Minz, Additional General Manager and other officers of the corporation were also present on the occasion.
The tournament was conducted in accordance with the rule of the game approved by Table Tennis Federation of India. Prince Vipon, Chief referee, VK Gulati, SC Bhatt & their team conducted the event. It is to be noted that a total of nine teams participated in the tournament were divided in (Pool A & B).
Pool ‘A’ consisted-Ministry of Power, (MOP), Power Grid Corporation of India limited (PGCIl), NHPC limited, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam limited (SJVNl) & Rural Electrification Corporation (REC). In Pool 'B'- Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), Power Finance Corporation (PFC) & THDC India limited.
