The State of Uttarakhand has a capacity to generate 35-40 thousand MW of power and can become a real ‘Power State’, but the corruption ridden organisations like Uttarakhand Power Corporation (UPCl), Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam limited (UJVNl) and Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand limited (PTCUl) have robbed the State of the coveted tag. The BJP leader and Former President of Rajya Andolkari Parishad, Ravindra Jugran, said this while addressing the media men here on Sunday.

Accusing irregularity in the appointment of UPCl Managing Director, Jugaran said that in the interview board had placed SS Yadav in the second position and recommended OP Dikshit for the position. He alleged that SS Yadav who at that time was Managing Director, PTCUl somehow managed to become the MD of UPCl. launching a scathing attack on Yadav, Jugaran alleged that in gross violation of the norms he drew double monetary benefit from both PTCUl as MD and also took pension from the Power Transmission limited Hisar, Haryana for many months.

He said that Yadav deposited 10 lakh of rupees in the accounts of PTCUl when the matter was raised in the newspapers. Jugaran said that Yadav is regularly giving benefits to the Haryana based companies while the State Government is looking the other way.  He sought  a high level probe into irregularities indulged in by Yadav.
