Crumbling basic services, particularly, electricity and drinking water supply, continue to hit normal life in Haldwani and its adjoining areas, despite Chief Minister Harish Rawat's tough message to the officials concerned to improve things at the earliest.
Power remained disrupted for over two hours from 4 pm on Friday in Haldwani's Kushumkhera, R K Tent House Road, Pushp Vihar and some others. Things further compounded for them as the power outages coupled with frequently varying voltages affecting water supply too in many areas of the city. .
“We have been suffering continuously due to long power cuts and resultant drinking water scarcity We were led into believing that CM’s stern message would better things .However, things are the same, the hope is turning despair,” said an aggrieved resident.
