In a bid to provide relief to the electricity consumers, UERC has directed the Energy Efficiency Services limited (EESl) to distribute five lED lamps to the domestic consumer having load of four kW and 10 lEDs to the consumers having load of above four KW at subsidised rate in next three weeks. This was decided at a meeting involving chairman, UERC, national programme manager, EESl, managing director, UPCl and directors of UPCl. During the meeting, EESl made a presentation with regard to various energy-saving activities running across the country.

During the meeting it was decided that other than domestic category consumers, consumers of non-domestic category with load upto 10 kW shall also be provided with 10 lED lamps at nominal cost. For early implementation of energy-saving scheme in the State, UPCl was directed by EESl to furnish an investment proposal within a week. EESl apprised that they would require three weeks for procurement and thereafter it would take six more months to implement the scheme across the State.

UERC chairman Subhash Kumar directed EESl and UPCl to contemplate every aspect involved in successful implementation of the scheme and ensure action in a time-bound manner so that the scheme can be implemented by March 2016.
