Poster, banner still visible in outer areas

Despite the administration engaged in removing posters, banners and billboards from the city following the enforcement of the  model code of conduct, the same is still visible in the  outer areas of the city. The posters, banners and hoardings depicting the Government schemes and events continue to be there in the outer areas like Jogiwala and Laxmi Road.  The faces of the national level or the state level politicians can be easily spotted in the posters, banners and hoardings which are visible in abundance.

Queried over the matter, the district magistrate SA Murugeshan said, “From our end, we are removing every poster and banner. The complaints we are getting are also being acted upon at the earliest. Even then some might be left out in some areas of the city. This is because the team formed for the purpose has not spotted them.  The people are requested to register complaints regarding such things still present  on Cvigil mobile application.  Once they are registered they would be acted upon and such posters/hoardings would be removed.”

DM   further said, “Such posters or banners, especially the ones depicting the face of any political  leader would be removed promptly once they are found out”,  he added.

A Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) officer said, “Our team  is very active on the matter. We act once a complaint is made. We have around seven teams constituted for the specific work. Each team has nearly 10 members.”
