Poor utilisation of funds has come as a matter of concern for the Almora district administration with utilisation of only Rs17. 74 crore by it under district plan during the past eight months upto December 2013 , against Rs56.07 crore approved under the same district plan for the year 2013-2014.
The fact is that if the district administration Almora has been able to spend only Rs17. 74 crore during the past eight months from April to December end , out of Rs56.07 crore approved under the district plan for the year 2013-2014, how can it utilise rest of the fund i.e. about Rs38.33 crore under the same head in the next about three months till March 31, 2013 of this current financial yearIJ
However, the officials concerned of the Almora district administration have said that out of the total Rs 56.07 crore approved under the district plan for the year 2013-2014, about Rs29.26 crore has been released by the Government so far. Whatever be the reason behind delay in spending the fund, the matter of fact is that more than 50 per cent of the fund under plan is yet to be utilised by the Almora district administration till March 31, 2013.
In the meanwhile, Akshat Gupta, District Magistrate, Almora, has directed the officials concerned to ensure full utilisation of the sanctioned fund under the district plan on time.
Since district plan report has to be submitted to the Government by January 5, therefore all the officials concerned of the different departments are supposed to ensure 100 per cent utilisation of the fund released to them on time, Gupta asked the officials concerned.
Some of the departments which are lagging behind in utilisation of the fund in Almora include irrigation, agriculture, sports, animal husbandry, jal nigam, tourism, social welfare, jal sansthan, to name a few.
The district administration, Almora, has strictly asked these departments to expedite the fund utilisation process.
