Though officials concerned claim to have taken certain preparatory measures like setting up of round the clock control room to keep watch on any rain or natural disaster like situation, poor conditions of drainages, sewer systems resulting in water logging on roads even during early monsoon showers tell a different tale.
Though no untoward incident was reported from any parts of the region, incessant rain continued to hit normal life here on Sunday. People particularly commuters faced a tough time due to traffic jam caused by water logging on the Haldwani-Kaladhungi Road, Haldwani-Nainital Road, the Haldwani-Bareli Road and other areas in Haldwani.
Vehicular traffic on the busy Haldwani-Kaladhungi Road that links Ramnagar from Haldwani, remained badly disrupted due to water-logging on account of incessant rain throughout the day today.
Poor drainage system coupled with bad rain water disposal arrangement only blocked smooth movements on the said road.
