A day after the State went to poll for the lok Sabha election, candidates of various political parties and independent candidates spent time relaxing with family and discussing trends with party workers. After days of hectic campaigning, the candidates of Samajwadi Party, Communist Party of India and CPI (Marxist) were all confident after the completion of the polling process.
Samajwadi Party State president Dr Satyanarayan Sachan said, “After about a month of election campaign, finally I got time to relax on Thursday. Being SP State party president, I was active in public meetings, meets with party workers, rallies, door to door campaigns and other campaign activities in Haridwar, Nainital and Almora parliamentary constituencies from where we had fielded our candidates. “Physically I might be relaxed after the end of polling but mentally I am busy analysing the situation. Generally I used to wake up early morning but today I awoke at 8 am and then went to party office where I discussed the assembly constituency-wise poll percentage other election related issues with party workers.” He expressed hope that in this lok Sabha election, party will perform better than in the past elections.
An Aam Aadmi Party member said that he was unable to workout at the gym regularly for a month because of his participation in the campaign for AAP Tehri candidate Anoop Nautiyal. “I woke up early and went to the gym on Thursday,” he added.
CPI (M) central committee member Vijay Rawat said, “I woke up at 5am on Thursday but again went to sleep and then got up at 9 30am. After one month or more, I got chance to meet my family members on Thursday. I enjoyed the family get-together. I also reimbursed those who spent on election campaign. No party meeting was held on Thursday as I had asked the party workers to rest for a day.”
