As part of the nation-wide national pulse polio campaign being held on February 22, a camp would be held in Haridwar too. District Magistrate H C Semwal chaired a meeting held at the Collectorate premises of Roshnabad. He urged the officials of the concerned department to make it successful. He said that the teachers could inform the students about the polio camp. He expressed concern over low percentage of oral polio vaccination.

Semwal instructed Asha, ANM and Aanganwari workers to be more vigilant over the matter. Dr Saurabh Tripathi of WHO informed that no case of polio has been recorded after 2011 in West Bengal. He further added that at present the most badly affected country is Pakistan, which is also our neighbour. So there is a need to be more alert, he added.

Joint Magistrate Mangesh Ghildyal, SDM Roorkee Mohd. Naasir, District Programme Officer Mohit Chaudhary, ACMO Aarti Dhondhiyal among others were present at the meeting.
