State police have deployed additional police force for security to the MlAs and at their residences in view of floor test scheduled on May 10. Two gunners each have been given to all MlAs of the State. The district police heads have been directed to provide security to the MlAs as per their demand.

The State director general of police, MA Ganapathy has directed the district police officers to provide adequate police force for MlA security. The police officers have been directed to make elaborate security arrangements in their jurisdiction and also ensure that all the MlAs are able to exercise freely their franchise on the floor of the Vidhan Sabha assembly on Tuesday.

Ganapathy said that he directed the police officers to provide squad to MlAs from their residence to Vidhan Sabha campus if the MlAs seek this in writing. Additional gunners should also be provided to MlAs if they seek for it in writing to the district police head.

MlAs will be told by the district police head to not leave deputed gunner. Police officers have also been directed to get in touch with MlAs from time to time and ask them whether they need additional police protection, he added.

Meanwhile, MlA from Dwarahat, Madan Singh Bisht has sought security from Dehradun police. In his written complaint to Police Station, Rajpur, Bisht stated that in view of floor test in the assembly on Tuesday, he is being allegedly threatened by Rudraprayag MlA Harak Singh Rawat. He has allegedly been told by Harak Singh Rawat to vote against ousted CM Harish Rawat in the assembly.

According to Bisht, Harak Singh Rawat has threatened him of defaming his public image. Harak Singh Rawat may indulge in wrong practices against him on the direction of BJP leaders who together are threatening to frame him in fraudulent cases.

According to him, Harak Singh Rawat had also threatened exposing him through sting operation. Bisht demanded FIR to be lodged against the accused in the police station and action should be taken against the accused.

However, Dehradun senior superintendent of police Dr Sadanand Date said that he has not received a complaint so far. Action will be taken based on complaint report, he added.
