Dehradun police are still stumbling in the darkness about the identities of the criminals who had robbed the house of the assistant commandant of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Sunil Kumar Dhaundiyal at Harrawala area (Sidhpuram Colony) in Dehradun on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Garhwal Range deputy inspector general of police Pushpak Jyoti said on Wednsday that the culprits would soon be brought to book with several teams, including SOG, being on the lookout for them at several places in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. “Dehradun police are in touch with the senior police officers of western Uttar Pradesh of the ranks of IG, DIG and SSP as such burglary cases have been reported in the recent past there,” he added.
DIG Jyoti who himself had inspected some vulnerable areas on Tuesday/Wednesday night further said that during a meeting held with the police officers on late Tuesday night, he had directed them to intensify patrolling apart from taking measures to clamp down on crimes in their jurisdictional limits. “Vehicle checking drives are also being conducted in their areas. We would not brook any negligence on the part of the on- duty police personnel,” he warned.
