In view of frequently recurring cases of burglaries and thefts from various parts of Dehradun, the district’s senior superintendent of police Dr Sadanand Date warned police post in-charges that they will be reverted to the police lines in case even a single case of theft is reported in their jurisdiction. Two police posts in-charge have recently been reverted to the police line on this ground so far.

In one more incident, a theft was reported in a closed house, located in Nehru Colony Police Station area on Wednesday noon wherein thieves burglarised the house and decamped with cash and jewellery.

Ramesh Bhatt, resident of Saraswati Vihar registered a complaint and state that his family members went to market for some works and some thieves had burglarised his house between 10.30 am and 2 pm on Wednesday. The Nehru Police Station police officer said that team has been formed and they are investigating the case.

Statistics revealed that in the last fortnight, one after another incidents of thefts are being reported under various police stations of the district on daily basis. Police station officers concerned are failing to crack the registered theft cases.
