Dehradun Police has arrested a vehicle thief from Brahmanwala and recovered some stolen vehicles from his possession on Tuesday. The accused was identified as Mohammad Ali, a native of Haryana. In view of increasing cases of vehicle theft in the city, Dehradun SSP Pushpak Jyoti formed several teams in various police stations and they were directed to conduct vehicle checking drives in their jurisdiction.
Acting on a tip- off, police arrested Mohammad Ali from Brahmanwala area on Monday. Police recovered two vehicles and two motor bikes from his possession. During interrogation, he confessed having stolen several vehicles in Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand. The accused was living in rented accommodation in Brahamanwala and was selling parts of stolen vehicles. The accused was sent to jail after being produced in the court, it is learnt.
