Dehradun police arrested two persons, including a woman, on Wednesday on the charge of selling gas cylinders in the black in Vasant Vihar area. Police also seized 47 gas cylinders of various oil companies and refilling equipments from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Amrish, resident of Gandhi Gram and Sita, resident of Seemadwar.
Acting on a tip-off of gas cylinders being sold in the black from two houses under Vasant Vihar police station area, the Vasant Vihar police station officer Sanjay Mishra led a team and raided two houses at Shastri Nagar and recovered as many as 47 gas cylinders and refilling equipments from there.
A case under several sections of Essential Commodities Act has been registered against the accused in the Vasant Vihar police station.
