An absconder allegedly involved in a loot and murder case in Darbhanga (Bihar) was arrested from Patelnagar in Dehradun while police were conducting verification drive for the residents in the area on Friday evening.
The accused has been identified as Ramesh Sahani, resident of Vijanpur, Bihar. He was currently living in Brahampuri area of Patenlagar.
In course of interrogation it was revealed that the accused had first fired shots on one Vinod and later escaped after looting Rs 1.5 lakh from him. The incident occurred on August 8, 2016. A case (FIR no-187/16) under sections 394/324/302 of IPC and 24 Arms Act was registered against the accused in University Police Station, Darbhanga.
Dehradun police informed the Bihar police of the development and the accused would be handed over to them, said SSP Dr Sadanand Date.
